Porn finances are so murky that it is hard to find reliable figures, but most experts estimate that in the mid-aughts (before the rise of the tube sites, which began in 2007) the American porn industry was worth between $10 and $14 billion. Ten years later, those estimates plummeted to about $5 billion. It seems clear that this was not due to a decline for the total pornography application, but was due nearly entirely to the rise of free porn.

Granted, some millennials are not paying for this content themselves, leaning instead on their parents. But these freeloaders seem to be an amazingly small minority.
